BASES Family Thrift Store received 200 pairs of brand new winter boots.
Ms Qian Yang, a youth businesswoman from China, had a desire to donate some of her supplies of womens winter boots to families and individuals in a needy community. She reached out to Nancy Mathisen of the Charity Foundation of Canada (CFC) and the Canadian Community Services Association (CCSA) for advice. Being an adviser for CCSA, Burnaby counselor James Wang spoke with fellow Burnaby counselor Paul McDonell (and long time BASES supporter) about Ms. Yang’s desire.
Long story short on Thursday December 14th, BASES excitedly accepted Ms. Qian’s generous gift of 200 boots for us to sell at the store. They came in 6 styles and a variety of colors. All proceeds will go to support children and youth after school programs for the 6 Southeast Burnaby schools.
